Rebeca Macias Gimenez
Rebeca Macias Gimenez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, whose PhD from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law focused on environmental decision-making about energy infrastructure projects, and on ways to address adverse effects on Indigenous communities. Her current research focuses on cumulative impacts of industrial and extractive activities on Indigenous traditional territories and their ways of life. She is affiliated with the Water, Innovation, and Global Governance Lab, at the Centre for Global Studies, University of Victoria, and is a Graduate student fellow with the Centre for International Governance Innovation.
